Who we are?
I am a doctoral fellow in Psychology at the University of Bamberg, Germany. Currently, I am doing my dissertation on metacognition and self-regulation. I studied Mphil in Childhood Studies at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2010. In addition, I have Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and B.A degree in Psychology from Addis Ababa University in 2008 and 2006, respectively. I worked as lecturer and counseling psychologist in different state owned universities. I was also a Care Practices expert at ACF International.
Firew Kefyalew (Assistant Professor)
Firew is a distinguished psychologist with versatile experience in the academia, community development, and humanitarian works in Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, and USA. He was the President of the Ethiopian Psychologists Association (EPA) for two terms. Currently, he is the Assistant Academic Director for East Africa, Future Generations Graduate School, USA. He has also been international editorial board member of the International Journal of Migration, Health and Social Care. Firew has written widely on different subjects. He studied psychology for both his undergraduate and postgraduate degree at Addis Ababa University.
Firew has over 28 years of experience from being a Guidance and Counseling Officer to a Country Director and Program Advisor for Africa region in international organizations such as IIRR, Save the Children, and UNICEF. He has also taught different course at Addis Ababa University and National University of Rwanda. Cognizant of his ample experience at the ground in the development programs, academia, his active participation in community organizations, his experience as leader of EPA and his research experience, he mentors the overall activities in this website.

I studied M.A degree in Developmental Psychology from Addis Ababa University in 2008. My first degree is in Psychology from Jimma University in 2006. I am working as a lecturer in a state owned university. In addition, I give trainings, consultations, and counseling service for the community.
Negash Abebe graduated from Institute of Psychology With Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, Addis Ababa University. He is currently enrolled in graduate school at Addis Ababa University doing his master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.
Negash Abebe has translated three personal development and psychology self-help books in to Amharic. Two of them are published and are now on market available for readers. Namely, the books are; How to help your child succeed (ስኬታማ የልጅ አስተዳደግ ምስጥሮች), Twelve steps to a happy and successful life (ወደ ደስታና ስኬት ሰገነት የምትወጣባቸው 12 ደረጃዎች) and Just do it now (ሳታወላውል አድርገው).
Negash has attended several trainings on the subject of life skills, leadership and personal development at different times. He has also been working as editor in chief of two magazines “ሳይክኢንፎ” of Psychology in Action Club and “ፍሬ ልቦና” of EPA. He is now an active member and executive committee associate of Ethiopian Psychologists’ Association.
Presently, He is working as Counselor, Training facilitator and Editor in Chief of “ጤና ይስጥልን” Amharic wellness magazine.
I have M.A degree in Social Psychology from Addis Ababa University in 2012. I graduated my bachelor degree, major in Psychology, minor in Sociology from Jimma University in 2009. Currently, I am working in a lecturer and researcher position in a state owned university. I have also experience in gender and childhood area.
Dr.Robert Wise: is licensed psychologist from USA. He has PhD in Clinical Psychology. Currently, he is the coordinator of the graduate program of clinical psychology at the School of Psychology, Addis Ababa University.
Dr.Beyenech Tsegaye: has PhD in Clinical Psychology. She is currently providing psychological help and consultations at Dr.Beyenech Psychological Service, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Kebede Bekere: is a licensed consulting psychologist, has a private practice and consulting firm. He received his BA degree in Educational Psychology from AAU in 1992 and MA in Pastoral Counseling from Eastern Mennonite University in VA, USA in 2001. Kebede has authored 12 books in Amharic, contributed several articles to different magazines. Areas of interest: marriage and family, life skills and positive psychology.
Seblewongiel Aynalem: has second degrees in Social Work and Microbiology. She has been working in Bahir Dar University for 10 years as a lecturer and researcher. Moreover, she has experiences of working with local communities in the area of maternal and child health development. Currently she is doing her PhD in Addis Ababa University, Department of Social Work.
Iskinder Yacob: is currently a PhD student and graduate research assistant at the Department of Polymer Science, the University of Akron, in Ohio, USA. While his major preoccupation involves hardcore science, he is keenly interested in the public application and dissemination of reason and science.
Ledet Muleta: is a mental health advocate from the Washington D.C. area. She is the founder of a small grassroots organization named Medixaa Health Services (MHS) that focuses on psychological issues of minority groups. Ledet has her masters degree in Public Health from University of Massachusetts Amherst and also works for the National Institute of Health in Behavioral Health research. Currently Ledet’s goal is bringing great attention to the stigma associated with mental illness in the African Diaspora and Africans in general, so those affected can seek appropriate treatments.
Alebel Addis: I graduated with Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Jimma University in 2014. Currently, I am working as a Counseling Psychologist at Jimma University. I also give training on life skills for University students.
